Gallery artist Carlos Salazar-Lermont will participate in Human-Nature, a group exhibition at The Franklin in Chicago. Human-Nature will be presented at The Franklin, a project space in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood, run by Edra Soto and Dan Sullivan, which is dedicated to supporting artists and cultural workers. The exhibition opens September 17, 2026, and will remain on view through September 17, 2027. The opening reception will take place Thursday, September 17, from 7–9 PM as part of Chicago Exhibition Week 2026, which runs September 14–20 across more than 50 galleries and creative spaces throughout the city. Human-Nature brings together Andres L. Hernandez, Carlos Salazar-Lermont, Hai-Wen Lin, Jasjyot Singh Hans, Jay Heikes, Lola Ayisha Ogbara, Monika Plioplyte, and Norman Teague in an exploration of the relationships between human experience and the natural environment. Through movements, sounds, compositions, and synthetic and organic materials, the exhibition considers how people perceive, use, transform, and depend upon the world around them.
