The finalists for the second iteration of PXSTL—architects Merve Bedir and Jason Hilgefort, artist Mary Ellen Carroll, and architect Amanda Williams and artist/educator Andres L. Hernandez—will deliver public presentations of their past work and interest in the PXSTL project at this public event. Monday, February 15 at 5:30 pm – Steinberg Auditorium, Sam Fox School.
Presented by the Sam Fox School and Pulitzer Arts Foundation, PXSTL is a competition for a design-build commission to create a temporary structure, landscape strategy, or other design intervention that will transform a vacant lot in St. Louis’ Grand Center neighborhood into the site of community-based programs and events.
The finalists were selected from a group of more than 35 international practitioners; a winner will be selected in March 2016, and the design will be realized in spring 2017. As part of this year’s competition, the winner will teach an architecture studio as visiting faculty in the Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design in fall 2016.
