Digital media artist Jennifer Steinkamp inaugurates CAM’s Street Views series, a new exhibition series of large-scale video art that will be projected onto the museum’s Washington Boulevard facade. Often incorporating lush, nature-based imagery, Steinkamp’s digital video animations alter architectural spaces, taking viewers beyond the physical boundaries of a built environment to contemplate their surroundings in new ways. Using powerful video projectors and a complex computer algorithm, Steinkamp’s installation at CAM will transform the museum’s characteristic crisp lines into a dynamic curtain of undulating flowers and leaves, creating a digital garden among the metal and concrete of the building.
